Even today, Spurr Dealerships has continued to stay true to its commitment to be a family business that centers on each customer leaving completely satisfied with their purchase and service.
Dan and Randy started the business in 2001, each having more than 15 years in the car business under their belts before they opened their doors – many of which were spent in management.
Randy started out in High School, working for Mulkin Chevrolet here in Brockport New York, at the location where Spurr Dealerships is now located.
Dan studied at the Northwood Institute, specializing in Automotive Management and Sales.
In some ways, both Dan and Randy are following in their father Rick Spurr’s footsteps. Rick owned and operated a used car dealership in Clarkson between the 1970s and the 1980s, then moved to Pennsylvania to operate a dealership there for another ten years before returning to the Brockport area in the 90s, finally returning and settling into a dealership back home in Canandaigua.
Randy and Dan worked with their father in Clarkson, and then moved on to bigger and better things. Both spent years in management roles, with Randy Managing General Sales at Durfee Chevrolet and Dan Managing at Mulkin Chevrolet.
Before they opened Spurr Dealerships here in Brockport, utilizing the old Mulkin staff and facilities in the beginning, they operated a used car lot in Hamlin. They maintain their small, family atmosphere even today, never ignoring a customer’s needs with staff working tirelessly to solve any problem.
In the beginning the brothers sold Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, GMC and Oldsmobile on location, but over the years they have adjusted to carry what they deemed were safer and more in-demand models.
In 2006, the Pontiac-Buick-GMC showroom was renovated, and Spurr Dealerships began selling and servicing Subaru vehicles. Another renovation came in 2014, as Spurr Dealerships worked to meet the new, Chevrolet Brand Identity.Even today, Spurr Dealerships continues its dedication to excellent service, treating each and every customer like family.
